Danielle Carrott Trauma-informed counsellor

A space to make sense of your experiences, without judgement.

Online counselling across the UK, LGBTQ+ affirming, Addiction and Trauma support.

Whether you're living with anxiety, trauma, addiction, or simply feeling overwhelmed by life, counselling offers a space where you don't have to carry it on your own.

Hello, I'm Danielle.

I know that reaching out for counselling can feel like a big step. You might be wondering whether you'll know what to say, whether you'll feel understood, or whether therapy is even right for you.

My aim is to create a space where you don't have to have everything figured out before we begin.

A safe affirming space to be yourself.

It's a space where we can gently explore what's happening in your life, make sense of your thoughts, feelings, and experiences, and work towards greater self-understanding, stability, and connection.

Whether you're healing from trauma, exploring your identity, or trying to find a different relationship with substances or behaviours, we can work together in a way that feels respectful and grounded.

I work with adults experiencing:

How I work

Every client is different, so every session looks different.

Some people come needing somewhere to process what's happened during the week.

Others are living with panic attacks, trauma, dissociation or feeling constantly on edge.

My role is to adapt therapy to your needs, working at a pace that feels safe for you.

Working Together

Emotion wheel

I'm a qualified counsellor offering online counselling to adults across the UK.

I know that reaching out for therapy can feel like a big step. You might be wondering whether you'll know what to say, whether you'll feel understood, or whether counselling is right for you. My aim is to provide a warm, supportive space where you can feel heard, accepted and able to explore whatever has brought you to therapy, at a pace that feels right for you.

My counselling training began with a Foundation Diploma in Counselling and Psychotherapy through Plymouth University, where I developed a particular interest in addiction and the impact it can have on individuals and the people around them.

Alongside my training, I worked as a care assistant supporting adults living with learning disabilities, dementia, mental health difficulties and those receiving end-of-life care. Those experiences gave me a deeper understanding of how differently people experience life's challenges and reinforced the importance of compassion, patience and meeting each person as an individual.

My approach is integrative and trauma-informed, which means I adapt the way we work to suit your individual needs rather than expecting you to fit into one approach. Some sessions may focus on exploring what's been happening in your life, while others may involve understanding your nervous system, making sense of trauma responses, or gently exploring patterns that no longer feel helpful. Whatever brings you to counselling, we'll work together in a way that feels supportive, collaborative and respectful of your experiences.

I have experience supporting clients with anxiety, trauma, addiction, relationship difficulties, bereavement and LGBTQ+ affirming therapy. Above all, I strive to offer a space where you can be yourself without fear of judgement, and where together we can begin to make sense of your experiences and move towards a way of living that feels more connected and authentic to you.

You don't need to have everything figured out before we begin. Together, we'll create a space where you can explore what's happening for you, at a pace that feels safe and right for you.

Taking the First Step

Ready When You Are

If you're ready to take the next step, I'd be happy to hear from you.

I offer a free 20-minute consultation by Zoom or telephone. It's an opportunity for us to talk about what has brought you to counselling, answer any questions you may have, and help you decide whether working together feels like the right fit.

If you choose to continue, counselling sessions are £50 for 50 minutes and are available on a weekly or fortnightly basis.

As I work online with clients across the UK, you can attend sessions from the comfort and privacy of your own home. Many people find online counselling offers greater flexibility, making it easier to fit therapy around work, family life or other commitments.

I also offer concessionary rates for people on a low income and for student counsellors. Please feel free to ask if this applies to you.
