LGBTQIA+
Identity
You may be questioning parts of your identity, finding new language that feels right for you, or simply trying to make sense of who you are. For some people, identity feels fluid and continues to evolve over time. For others, it can feel confusing, especially when family expectations, culture, faith, or past experiences have shaped how safe it has felt to be yourself.
You may be carrying thoughts or feelings that are difficult to put into words, or noticing that the way others see you doesn't quite reflect who you know yourself to be.
Whatever your experience, you don't have to have everything figured out before coming to counselling. Therapy can offer a space to explore your identity with curiosity, compassion, and without judgement, at a pace that feels right for you.
Coming Out.
Coming out can bring many different emotions. For some people, it brings relief and a sense of freedom. For others, it can bring fear, uncertainty, grief, hope, or several of these feelings all at once.
You may be thinking about whether you want to come out, who feels safe to tell, how the people around you might respond, or how to care for yourself if those responses are painful, dismissive, or uncertain.
There is no right or wrong way to come out, and there is no timeline you have to follow. Counselling can offer a space to explore these questions, move at your own pace, and make decisions that feel right for you.
Polyamorous Relationships.
If you are in a polyamorous, open, or non-monogamous relationship, you may have experienced misunderstanding, assumptions, or judgement from others. You may be looking for a space where you don't have to explain or justify how your relationship works.
You might want support with communication, boundaries, jealousy, attachment, trust, navigating relationship changes, or simply making sense of the challenges and strengths within your relationships.
Whatever your relationship looks like, counselling offers a space where your experiences are met with openness, curiosity, and respect, without the assumption that there is only one "right" way to have a relationship.
Gender Identity
You may be exploring your gender identity, reflecting on what feels true for you, or trying to make sense of feelings that have been with you for a long time. You might be thinking about how you express yourself, whether transition feels right for you, navigating gender dysphoria, or finding the language that best reflects who you are.
You may also be wondering how to live more authentically in different areas of your life, whether that's with family, friends, at work, or within your wider community.
Counselling can offer a space to explore these experiences without pressure or expectation. There is no right way to understand or express your gender, and you don't have to have everything figured out before reaching out for support.
How therapy can help.
I offer an LGBTQ+ affirming space where you are met with care, respect, and without judgement. Drawing on both my professional experience and lived experience, I aim to provide a space where you can feel seen, accepted, and able to explore whatever feels important to you.
Whether you are exploring questions around identity, coming out, gender, or relationships, counselling can support you in making sense of your experiences, deepening your connection to yourself, and finding a way forward that feels grounded in your wellbeing and values.
I won't try to place you into fixed ideas about who you should be. Instead, therapy can be a space where you are free to explore your experiences at your own pace, discover what feels authentic and meaningful for you, and build a life and relationships that feel more connected, affirming, and true to who you are.
